You may have experienced trauma in your life. This can be overwhelming, and you may not know how to traverse the symptoms or the feelings that may come with your experience. My job as a counselor is to help you to navigate these feelings and learn how to build skills to better help you. I come from a solution focused approach, where I help you to discover your strengths and build upon those strengths allowing you to be resourceful and resilient in your growth journey.

My experience includes working at a child advocacy center with children and adolescents who have been sexually and physically abused. I have also worked with adults struggling with depression, mood disorders, and trauma. My area of focus has been Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also utilize play therapy for those whose language is PLAY with helpful tools like sand tray. Although I enjoy working with children and adolescents.

During my six years active duty in the US Navy, I served as a Corpsman both stateside and abroad. I spent my first few years focused on emergency medicine, working in the Emergency Department and as an Emergency Medical Technician. It was in these roles where I learned first hand of the effects trauma can have on an individual, realizing the necessity of mental health support for individuals in those areas and starting me on my journey that brought me here. I hope to help military families, veterans, and first responders.
